Each conversation is unique, but common topics we may discuss with you are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the genetic research you participated in and the types of results they return.<\/li>\n<li>your preferences for learning your personal research result<\/li>\n<li>actions you can take to manage your health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our genetic counsellors are trained to help you make a decision about your research results. You can take all the time you need to make a decision. Not everyone chooses to access their genetic information, so don&#8217;t worry if you are unsure about how you feel. The genetic counselling process can help you to work this through.<\/p>\n<p>If you choose to receive your result, the genetic counsellor can give you that information over the phone. They will also discuss what the result means for your health, and the health of your family, as well as next steps.
